We had a family dinner there. All ages. From 4 to 80.
Just the bar ... anyone can enter .. at least when i went they didnt card or anything... we grabbed a table and had dinner
Yes, the bar/lounge area.
Visited during restaurant week. Nice atmosphere. Great bar staff. No love in the food. The best thing was the calamari. My friend’s mussel appetizer came with 5 shells and a total of 3 mussels. The paella was over saturated with sauce and chicken. The fried Oreo with ice cream was nice but I can’t imagine paying $7 for 1 fried Oreo on a regular night. I would recommend this place for drinks only.
😋 Delicious 😋 and you wont leave hungry...
Really enjoyed this place... went there during restaurant week. My burger was really good and so were the brussel sprouts. The atmosphere is nice and chill.
The bar and its accompanying food are good quality. It makes a nice place to meet up for your annual rugby club gift exchange too!
Nice people good food 🥘 and drinks
Valanni. I love this place. Upscale but affordable. Food and service spot on. Their small plates are both well prepared and sharable so it's a good place for a group of friends or family. Nice bar and great Bloody Marys! Perfect for a casual Sunday meal or a fantastic night out.
Went for Restaurant Week. Got the Buffalo Chicken Croquettes, Salmon and Oreo dessert. All were excellent. Tried the Parmesan Crusted Calamari which were a little over cooked and rubbery. The only issue I had was with the weird, backless "chairs". They are more like ottomans. Very strange but not a huge issue. Also the dining room tables were very crowded together but that could be due to it being Restaraunt Week. Overall I would definitely recommend.
Gorgeous place with great food options! We've had a couple incidents where servers have dropped multiple items on the table and on us, but other than that, it's a very nice and enjoyable place to eat and drink. It would be awesome if they had a bottomless brunch option, especially for the monthly drag show!
My experience was great! The service and atmosphere was superb. The food was really good.
The menu gets tastier every time we go, especially the chef's pasta special.
Overall it was OK but nothing exciting that would prompt me to come back. Atmosphere: When walking in you are hit with a strong fish smell, very reminiscent of Fisherman's Wharf. We sat in the back where the lighting was very unnatural and chairs more ottomans than chairs. It felt like an interior designer was left unchecked and comfort was sacrificed for ambiance. Food: The food wasn't anything memorable, certainly not for the price. The strongest flavor in my salmon and garlic mash was lemon. It was a lot of lemon and not much else. I can't say that I will remember anything about the food. Service: the service was good. Our waiter was quick and attentive.
Great place. I usually go for drinks and snacks at the bar. I’ve never eaten dinner here though. Food, drinks, and service all great. But knocked off a star because they did away with their weekend happy hour while other bars nearby still have one. It was the main reason we’d show up, and usually ended up staying later and ordering extra stuff.
Our group went to Valanni during restaurant week, and overall it was a good experience. The table we sat at was wobbly, but other than that, everything was fine. The meals were fabulous. I had the fiery potatoes and boursin burger, and I highly recommend both. Our server was polite and attentive. Would go again if it wasn't so expensive!
Went to Valanni's during restaurant week. Celebrated hubby's and daughter's birthday. The food was very tasty. The bill was a little over $100, + $25 tip.
Loved the atmosphere, staff and food!
One of the best things about Valanni is its late night happy hour. From 10PM 'til midnight, they have drink specials and $5 Tapas. I helped myself to a cucumber martini, mussels, and brussel sprouts all of which fully sated my late night hunger and thirst.
Got the Mezze Board with different proteins (lamb, shrimp, beef kabob, sausage) and spreads (tzatziki, hummus, baba ganoush) along with the Mini Paella during happy hour (you can choose meat, seafood, or veggie). I love the meat here but didn’t love the spreads as much, still a good experience though!
Phenomenal meal! The Mezze board was perfect for two people hungry from a busy day in the city. We added the brussel sprouts and it made a perfect dinner!
Good food 🥘 dessert 🨠I recommend
Nice ambience, chairs could use some upholstering, and more tables that are big. Lobster mac and cheese is 10/10! Carne paella was delicious. Definitely shareable size and left overs for the next day.
Great service an amazing food!
Excellent service, friendly staff. Recommend the happy hour, drink specials and small plates to share. We had the hummus, tzatziki, baba ganoush platter, vegetarian paella and the chicken empanadas. All were excellent! It was a beautiful day and the front was open letting in the fresh air and great for people watching!
Some food was SO GOOD- I personally hate cilantro and the shredded chicken empanadas description didn’t mention cilantro was in the empanadas. I was a bit disappointed about that- but still wouldn’t take off a star for that. Star was taken off because their seating is UNCOMFORTABLE. They have these little round white stools and oh my. So beyond uncomfortable. My back was in discomfort and I wasn’t able to enjoy my food well.
My preferred place for delicious mediterranean food. great ambiance & decor. the service here is friendly.
Visited for restaurant week and would return. The food, service, and ambiance was great.
I can't say I know this place inside and out, since I've only been here for brunch. But every brunch I've had has featured excellent food and courteous waiters. I feel I could order any main dish and be completely satisfied with my choice, as other members in my party would agree. The price is definitely on the steep side, but I knew that going in. Just make sure you don't visit here looking for a $10 meal; it doesn't exist. At least for brunch, Valanni is a cozy upscale environment.
Awesome swanky place in Philadelphia. The food was delicious. The drinks was on point. The Ruby Slipper, will definitely have you feeling some type of way. Definitely recommend.
